Outside the Box:

Carrie is happily married to her husband and main supporter David, a mother of 5 and an avid fitness lover. She has always been a dedicated cardio junkie, but for the last 5 years she has become a huge advocate for weights and many other modals of fitness. Beginning her career in fitness after helping her friend Jennifer shed 80+ LBS, she was inspired to become a personal trainer and help others like her friend change their lives too. Over the years she has studied various fitness modals and was recently drawn into the CrossFit world and loved it! A believer of all types fitness and a mud run addict, she trains hard and hopes to continue to inspire change in others helping them maintain healthy lifestyle changes too.

Outside the box: Barry is an avid Crossfitter and overall handyman, but mostly just likes hanging out with his 2 dogs and his CrossFit family. He is always the first to step up and help when needed. With a big smile on his face every time you see him. As a Coach and athlete he currently training rigorously for the CrossFit Games, but mostly trains for health and fun. He is the resident Mr. Fix It at SCF, all while he programs, coaches and trains.

Outside the box: 

Happily married with 3 sons. Travis has always been active and loves serving others. Retired Navy, he continues to serve his community as a Kirkland Fire Fighter and coaches high school water polo as well. Travis is one of our early morning 5am coaches. Always having a pleasant and motivating attitude, he constantly helps others and works hard at everything he does.

Abe is a super upbeat, fun loving, and knowledgeable coach. He helps lead our CrossFit Foundations Classes and is always there to help out. An amazing athlete and great friend, always keeps the mood light and fun.


Camille Huddleston

Outside the Box:

Camille has been involved in sports and athletics her entire life. During college when she became bored of her regular gym routine, a friend suggested she try crossfit. She gave it a shot during the fall of her senior year at UW in 2013 and has enjoyed it ever since. It’s awesome learning new and different areas of fitness and pushing yourself in ways you never thought you could. Camille enjoys helping and encouraging others improve in their workouts every day!. 


Dan Johnston

Outside the Box:

Dan’s interest in fitness began early in life.  At a young age he was involved in a variety of sports, and began exercising and weightlifting to stay in shape in-between seasons.  Dan found crossfit when he started his career as a firefighter during one of the mandatory “PT” sessions as a new recruit.  He has been hooked ever since.  Dan is happily married to his wife Jess and a proud new father of his little boy Easton and dog Harley.

Outside the Box:

Danika has always been very active, introduced to basketball in Kindergarten and never looked back. Growing up she competed in basketball, soccer, fast pitch, ran track, cross country and did 7 years of ballet. After high school she continued competing in collegiate basketball, track and cross country. A fierce competitor, CrossFit had all the challenging aspects of fitness that Danika loved. Now she shares her knowledge with others as a motivated coach and athlete. She enjoys all outdoor activites such as shooting, hiking, and fishing. In her down time she enjoys reading, country music and spending time with her family.


David Paulson

OUTSIDE THE BOX:

David has been into athletics his entire life and grew up playing every sport possible. David starting lifting weights in high school to help him improve as an athlete for football, basketball, baseball and track.

In college he played tight end for the University of Oregon and was drafted to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2012. He played for the Steelers from 2012-2014 and then the San Diego Chargers from 2014-2015.

After his NFL career, David tried Crossfit upon hearing so many good things about it from his wife Coach Gina. David loves the competitive aspect of Crossfit and how there is always something new and challenging to learn. He wants to help others live a healthy lifestyle and achieve their fitness goals. He also has an apparel company with his wife, Northwest Lift. 


Gina Paulson

Gina is a energetic and dedicated CrossFit athlete. Gina started CrossFit in 2011 while attending the University of Oregon and fell in love with how it challenged her. After college she moved to Pittsburgh and started doing CrossFit competitions in 2013. She is so excited to be back with Sumner CrossFit and hopes to encourage athletes to reach their fitness goals. She loves coffee, her cat, Prim, and tacos. Outside of the gym, Gina is a wedding photographer, designer, and runs Northwest Lift Apparel with her husband.


Tyson Rickerson

Outside the Box:

Tyson has been highly involved in various sports from a very young age. Throughout the years he has played football, basketball and baseball. He continued competitive sports all through high school, and competed in track as a sprinter. He gained coaching experience as a high school football coach for 2 years. CrossFit was a natural progression for Tyson's competitive drive. He hopes to share his knowledge and experience with others as one of our coaches. Outside the gym he enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family.


Mel Stoehr

Outside the Box: 

Mel grew up playing sports but found her love in softball and played at Marshall University. After 4 years of playing, she stayed on staff working with the herd and was encouraged by former teammates to try crossfit. When she finally did, she was hooked and wished she had started sooner. She's usually happy if you put a barbell in her hands, but what she really loves about crossfit is the community and development that comes through challenging yourself every day. She found her home at SCF in 2015 and teaches & coaches softball at Sumner High School.

Sally has two boys who are competitive wrestlers, and spends much of her time away from the box at wrestling meets.  She is follower of the "Whole 9" lifestyle and has a wealth of knowledge when it comes to eating Paleo and how to get your whole family involved. Sally is our 9AM motivator and has a way of pushing you to reach your full potential, with a smile on her face and a positive go with the flow attitude!
